Erotica. Gasp! Upon hearing this word, many people automatically think “hard-core porn.” Romance. Sigh! Most people think of a love story, usually featuring a very masculine hero…and often, steamy love scenes.
So what’s really the difference? Often, the love scenes in romance novels are quite steamy, but the terminology generally excludes four-letter or body-part-naming words. In contrast, the scenes in erotic fiction are also quite steamy, although the terminology and descriptiveness tend to be more direct.
Have you watched an R-rated movie lately? If so, perhaps you’re like me…Sometimes I think, “Why is this rated R? I don’t see anything really objectionable in here.” Other times I think, “I can’t believe this isn’t rated X!”
Erotic fiction can be the same way. Sure, you can find a book that’s as “hard-core” as you couldn’t even imagine. But there are also many erotica books that are more of a “soft porn,” barely crossing the line between romance and erotica in the first place.
Such is the case with “Ignite.” It’s a book of short story erotic fiction written specifically with moms in mind. The stories are short. They’re hot. They’re a little something to light your fire.
I’m writing this post because, frankly, I’ve been shocked at how many of my existing readers seem horrified at the idea of reading erotic fiction. Just last Saturday night, I silenced an entire room at a party by simply mentioning it. (I’m still laughing about the comically horrified looks on their faces!). Trust me, ladies, if you enjoyed the steamier scenes in “Momnesia,” you will likely enjoy “Ignite.” (On the other hand, if you were put off by those scenes, it won’t be for you.)
I’m NOT saying you have to read “Ignite.” What I AM saying is, don’t be afraid of the unknown!
“Whether you’re a woman who has put passion on the back burner, or you’re a hot mama who has been keeping things aflame, these stories are sure to light your fire!”
